Is there an internal hardware difference? Hope they are still using the Anadigics High Power Amplifier!
    Same memory/flash?

Wow, that "old version" is **really** old. They have been selling the "new version" for almost a year now I think. Anyway I think the internals are the same and the antenna has only changed. In fact, the "low power" WHR-G54S" also now ships with the same "high gain" antenna as the "HP" version, only its white.

I live in a small New york city apartment (~600 square feet) and I have my router (WHR-G54S) xmit power dialed down to 3mw from the normal 42mw. I still get full speed and 5 bars of signal strength everywhere in the apartment. And I am secure knowing that I am giving less radiation to my family. When it comes to wireless signals, "less is more" if you ask me!

With DDWRT apparently the older version can be overclocked but with the new version even with the same version of the firmware you can not overclock the cpu. Looks like you have in status screen. But when you go to cpuinfo it confirms the cpu is locked at 200mhz. Not so with the older version. So something's different.
