Why is it this forum is not willing to help???

I posted a few simple question in the last few days and weeks and haven't gotten any useful answers. I asked loud and clear and I used the search function before doing so. I'm pretty new to wifi networking (I invested in wifi equipment only a few weeks ago) and fliddled around with it ever since getting pretty good results but I still need some help/advice in respect to some options I don't fully understand (in the firmware) and other things like 3rd party FWs. But it seems the willingness to help is near zero here. Only once I got a useful answer. Isn't this supposed to be a support forum??? I don't mean that personally but comming from other support forums and sites I'm used to a little bit more community help.

The threads where there actually is a discussion taking place are mostly pretty interesting but when they don't cover your problem or are on a level you're not able to understand (yet) you get pretty pissed if you're left in the dark over and over again.

That said I hope I'm able to learn things buy trial and error or this community will awake sometime.

You have to remember that answering questions on this forum is not anyone's job, it is a hobby. And yes, sometimes it take a bit of time before people come back and read the posts. Or it takes a while for someone with the answers to come along and help.

As far as no one helping you, I'm not sure what you are referring too. You have only created 2 threads yourself, of which both were answered, and in my opinion with decent results.

If you are getting answers that you don't understand then do some research and ask more informed or specific questions. if you don't know what QoS is or how to configure it, google it, or try the forums search as there are other great threads that cover it. You can't expect someone to re-answer a question in detail if the answer is already out there. Are you expecting them connect to your router and set it up for you?

Most of your 23 posts have been asking questions by piggyy backing on some else's thread. Of the ones that I read it appears that most of the posts on those threads were to answer the original posters question and stay on track of the thread topic.

If your questions are not the same as the thread, then don't ask new questions in an existing thread, but create a new one.

If after that you don't like the kind of answers that you are getting, then try the Linksys support and see what kind of response you get.

Bottom line is that people are taking time out of their life to assist you. For Free. Be thankful for the help that is given.

We've got lots of memebers out there, that's lots of WRTs, but everybodys' setup is different, it's hard to comment on something you just haven't tried to do.

    Stick around

some people tend to think that this site is run by linksys workers and funded by them. I am sorry to tell you this is not true. this is a community based website where we the community try to help if we can.

I dont actually understand your last comments however...

    in what respect?
