Why Linksys does not have it?

Why doesn't Linksys have the ability to statically configure devices by MAC address from within the firmware setup? It's so much easier and manageable to be able to do this through the router then having to change the settings on a computer or adapter. It's a real pain in the neck actually...and will hinder my next purchase of a Linksys router in the future if this type option is not included in the future. Does anyone know of a way to do this? Or found a firmware that lets you?

Sveasoft Firmware and DD-WRT Firmware both have this feature

I actually use this feature with the DD-WRT firmware to assign static IPs to my computers while keeping them set to automatic. It works like a charm and is so much easier than futzing around with the network configuration on the PCs all the time.

Yeah.. I only need static DHCP and I will love to use the official firmwire. Anyway.. I'm currently using WRT54GS official firmware. :< . I'm tempted to use other firmwire, but I think it's just too risky. but I need the static DHCP features. Hikz2... is there any safe way?
