    Hey all,

Im about to buy a WAP54G to act as an access point with my WAG54G so that I can bridge them both together and make a stonger signal. Will this work OK?

Does this mean I dont need a cable going from the WAG54G and WAP54G?

    Thanks in advance

Definitely YES to both. I just managed to get them working together. The only drawback is that it only works with WEP. Her's my configuration:

    WAG54G
    Firmware: 1.02.07
    SSID: Linksys
    Channel: 6
    IP: 192.168.1.1 / 255.255.255.0
    Wireless Security: WEP, 128 bits
Network Access: Restricted to some MACs
WDS: Enabled with MAC of WAP54G (see STATUS)

    WAP54G
    Firmware: 2.08
    SSID: Linksys
    Channel: 6
    IP: 192.168.1.245 / 255.255.255.0/ 192.168.1.1
    Wireless Security: WEP, 128 bits
Network Access: Restricted to some MACs
AP mode: Wireless Repeater with MAC of Wireless WAG54G (see Wireless Status)

The setup of the WAP54G is done with an ethernet cable betrween the WAG54G and the WAP54G and after setting everything up you might relemove the cable and place the WAP54G anywhere where it gets a signal from the WAG54G.
I checked a lot with PING 192.168.1.245 from my PC running the browser for setting everything up an I found if frequently nexessary to clean my arp table before trying to ping the WAP54G after a change. This can be done by
    ARP -d 192.168.1.254
    from a DOS window.

    Good luck!
