Will WDS help me?

I want to know if WDS (or WDS in AP mode) will provide any benefits over my current set up and what risks there may be.

I'm using three WRT54G running HyperWRT tofu12 and one WAP54G running HyperWAP 2.8. The WAP is acting as a repeater and the WRT54Gs are acting as APs. One of the WRT54Gs is the router too. All have the same SSID. I'm probably leaving out some important details, but I'm not sure what the issues are yet.

    Thanks.

I'm running tofu12 on WRT54Gv4 in WDS in AP Mode,
    WRT54Gv4 --WDS--WRT54GSv2.1 < channel 1 > to Switch,
    WRT54Gv4 --WDS--WRT54GSv2.1 < channel 6 > to Switch,
Switch to DSL , DSL (westell 6100) is the DHCP server, do not use WANS (disabled) all are on same 192.168.1.2 -- 192.168.1.9 are the WRT54s I leave 192.168.1.1 open for upgrades. Disabled wireless status pages on all WRT54s.

two setups like this, 62'' TV with XBOX on one link (channel 6)

another 62" TV HD with XBOX360 (channel 1),

    all run different SSID's (i.e. AP-2, AP-3 AP-4 etc....) 128 wep

I was running DD-WRTv23 on but switched becasue of the problems to Tofu and Thibor. Most of the problems were fix in Tofu and Thibor and added features and more stable.

I also roam from room to room with Laptop no cat5 cable in house.

    3 WRt54GSv2.1 & v1.1 Thibor12 (WDS AP Mode, WEP 128)
    2 WRT54Gv4.0 Tofu12 (WDS AP Mode, WEP 128)
    Westell 6100 DSL 6mb
