Will WRE54G range expander work with WRT54GX4?

The range expander set up easy through the automatic configuration and the wireless utility on my notebook can see the network. Sometimes I can connect to it but I can't send or receive any data. Are these products compatible?

No none of the SRX series of routers support bridging and repeating.

WRT54GXv1 and WRT54GXv2 are known to work with WRE54Gv2 with latest firmware on both devices. However, SRX200 and SRX400 are not compatible damn straight, possibly due to what howardp6 stated.

Does it really make sense to buy a WRT54GX4 and then try to use the WRE54G range expander. If you have a WPC54GX4 card or the to be released WMP54GX4 you get better range and throughput. Then you add a range expander that will may give you more range, but cuts the throughput in half that of a 802.11g device. If you are in the same house, add an additional access point to increase coverage on different two channels. The WRT54GX4 may not be friendly to neighboring wireless networks and may not be updated to the 802.11N standard, when finalized.
