WinXP Driver for the PCMCIA card out of a WAP11 version 2.2

I am looking for a Wireless card that has an external antenna connection. For use in tuning a outdoor bridge setup. I just happen to have a WAP11 Version 2.2 that I am not using. Looking at http://wireless.gumph.org/articles/wap11-insides.html
I see that it contains a standard (looking anyway) PCMCIA card with a connection I can use with an external antenna. It was not very hard to get it out and I thought “what the heck†maybe WinXP would “find†a driver and install it. Well I am sure you can guess that it did not find anything. XP did see that it is a “Network Controller†but no driver. The card has no markings of any kind. I don’t even have a clue as to the chipset supplier.

So here I am, asking if anyone has any idea what I can try next.

Thanks in advance for all your help

OK I went to the Linksys site and downloaded a driver for the WPC11. I did not know what ver. to try (there are several). None of them work with XP and my laptop. Any other ideas?

I would check the FCC Certification for PKW-WM11 and see, who was the manufacturer and check their website for a driver. I searched it is a Cisco-Linksys Product PKW-WM11 at this URL: https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&calledFromFrame=N&application_id=503456&fcc_id='PKW-WM11'

OK kids, don't try this at home. I tried every driver on the linksys site. Somewhere along the way something went real bad. It seems I fried the PCMCIA slot on my Compaq laptop. If I put any card in it would freeze up the system. Lucky I had the extended warranty. Now I have a new motherboard in my laptop. I won’t be trying that again.

I found a Cisco 350 card with the external antenna connections. The driver works great and all is well.

Any one want a slightly used and abused WAP 11?
