I've got one linksys wip 320 VoIP wifi handset, wich would be the greatest skype phone ever, if the battery would not suck as it is right now. I've dissemble it and found to have been using an 3.6v 900 mAh batt, would it hurt if I replace the battery with someone with higher mAh?

Previously I've successfully replaced the battery of a normal telephone handset that I was going to throw to the garbage with a motorola V3 cellphone batt, both where 3.6v, but one was 600mAh and the motorola were 2700 mAh, and to my suprise, never got a battery low after that

I can replace the wip320 batt being safe that it would not hurt the phone?, OR have I done it with the handset with enough luck to not toast the phone before?

You can always increase the mAH of a battery in any device. The mAH is the amount of power a battery has in storage. The higher the mAH, the more storage capacity. Always keep the voltage the same. The stock battery you have is 3.6vdc @ 900mAH. If you have the physical space using a battery that is 3.6vdc @ 1200mAH will give you more run time between charges. The down side, the larger the battery the longer the charge time. If it took 1 hr to charge the 900mAH battery, it will take 1.5 hours to charge the 1200mAH battery in the example. Hope this helps.

agreed. if it's the same voltage, and you can physically cram a higher capacity battery in the battery compartment and make the neccesary jury-rigging to get the terminals hooked up, go for it.
