I am presently using a 2.4ghz. 802.11b wireless adapter on my desktop and a wireless B notebook adapter...I have just upgraded my Modem/router to a Westell 327w for 3.0Mbps DSL.... My questions is: can I improve my service by upgrading to the wireless G ?
Do you transfer large files between computers? Do you watch movies stored on your desktop on your laptop? What do you use your computers for in general?
Another good reason to upgrade is improved wireless security. Most 802.11b devices (router, adapter, PDA, etc.) support only WEP encryption and not the more secured WPA or WPA2 (a.k.a. 802.11i). Obviously if you do upgrade you will need to perform it to every wireless device on your network to take advantage of newer wireless standards.
