Wireless Channel-Leave in Auto, or choose my own?

In the latest firmware I just loaded up, Auto is the default channel section option. Is it more ideal to choose a set channel or is auto a better option?

When I did a scan it seems that channel 5, 6, and 11 are the most popular in my neighborhood.

What is recommended, choose a channel that has few others, or others with low signal strength?

Me, I use software WirelessNetView (windows) to check which channel not congested and use that.

Thanks for the tips. I set a channel and it seems to be working well based on the scan within the firmware.

Remember to choose 1, 6, or 11 (non-overlapping). If there's a strong signal on a different channel (eg. your neighbor on channel 5) then it's best to avoid the adjacent channels (avoid 6).
