wireless clients don't get IP address via DHCP

I'm having a problem with a Dell Axim X30 that doesn't get an IP address from my WRT54GS with HyperWRT 2.0: the WLAN network is there, connection status excellent, but it doesn't get an IP address. I'm not even sure if this is related to the WRT54GS, but does anyone have an idea?

Other than that, HyperWRT is a nice firmware. Did anyone ever mention that static IPs via DHCP would be a nice feature ;-)?

Looks like it is not an Axim problem: same thing with a Dell Latitude D600 with onboard TrueMobile 1350 WLAN interface. The connection seems to be excellent, but no IP address gets assigned.

Oops, my mistake: I thought I could use the passphrase that you can insert for the WEP key on the clients also. I didn't get any error messages. As soon as I entered the real web key I got an IP address via DHCP.
