    Hi all,

I bought a WRT54G router a couple of weeks ago after my old faithful linksys 11b router finally crapped out in wireless functionality after 5 years. The 11b router had never ever dropped connection in its 5 years of service. The wired part still works. But I need a wireless router so I got the WRT54G because I had so much faith in Linksys product after the 11b router.

However the new router would drop wireless connection from time to time. When it happens I cannot ping the router from a wireless client but the computer phyiscally wired to the router can still talk to it. The wireless connection usually comes back by itself after 10 or so minutes. Has anyone had similiar issues with their 54G router. I believe mine is a vesion 5 based on the date I purchased it. I will go back and double check. Is it a problem with version 5 only? I do have a neighbour who has his own wireless network. But when I was on the old 11b, it never was a problem. So I am not sure if the problem is caused by my neighbour's wireless router.

Your neighbor may be interfering... try a different channel.
