wireless ethernet bridge mode, disconnect problems

I am using Tomato Firmware v1.19.1463 with a Linksys WRT54Gv2 in wireless ethernet bridge mode. I have one desktop physically connected to the router. When I am just surfing the net (basically any thing without heavy load) everything works fine. However, when I fire up an online game within about 20 or so minutes I start having connection problems.

For some reason if I go to my network connections folder and repair the connection every 10 minutes or so every thing seems to be okay. In which case I suppose I could set up some type of cron to repair the connection but that just seems silly.

I have tried browsing through the forums to figure this out but can't seem to find any similar threads. It seems to be like I am just putting way too much load on the router and it can't handle it, in which case are there any settings within tomato I can change to compensate for this, or am I basically out of luck?

    Thanks in advance.
