    Hello all,

I posted a few weeks ago concerning a network setup that I am trying to accomplish... well it seems as though I have no luck at all. Ill just ask a few questions here before I give up:

    1: How/can you ping a wireless PCMCIA adapter (specifically a WPC300N).
2: How can I set up/troubleshoot file sharing with the aforementioned PC? Are there any good guides out there?

Every time I try and connect to the wireless PC, from XP or Vista, it says something along the lines of: the computer you are attempting to connect to may have a name that already exists on the network. contact your net admin. Problem is I AM THE ADMIN and i duno wat 2 du. The name most certainly does not already exist, I only have four PCs.

    Please Help:frown:

Hmmm good question, are you connecting via ip? Are permission set properly on the machine in question. Does the wireless machine has network connectivity otherwise?

--Yes, I try and ping through IP (to no avail) but otherwise I simply use a workgroup through microsoft windows network.
--On the XP machines all firewalls are disabled on a admin account. On the vista machine I am on all the firewall/malware programs are disabled on an admin account.
--The machine in question has internet conectivity (WAN) through the WRVS4400N router but not with hardwire connections (LAN).

Will post a map (just got Visio) soon.
