Wireless G Notebook Adapter PLEASE HELP!

I just installed Linksys Wireless G Notebook Adapter into my laptop; everything installed correctly and the adapter light is on. The problem is that I can not get into the Configuring Network area (it was supposed to pop up after installation). The "refresh" and "connect" buttons are gray, unable to click on them. It says the adapter is inactive, which I think is because its not connected to a network. My home PC is hooked up to Linksys Wireless G Network Adapter WUSB54GS and I have no problems with that. I have tried everything and am stumped.

If anyone knows how I can connect to my PC network, PLEASE email me at greif86@gmail.com

What's the OS? If XP, Is Wireless Zero Configuration service active? What happens when you activate the service? Does the Device Manaager list the card properly?
