I currently have WRT54GL connected to my cable modem with TYPE=DHCP and WIRELESS MODE=ACCESS POINT. There are times when my internet cable goes down so I want to unplug my cable modem connecting to WRT54GL and plug in my WRT54G in it's place. I want to set up my WRT54G to connect to my sprint WIFI hotspot device to get access to internet, when it does I can plug my CAT5 cable to the WRT54GL. So it would look something like the below. I want to know what settings I need on my WRT54G to accomplish this.

Cable Modem -> WRT54GL -> wireless clients in house (CURRENT Setup)
Sprint WIFI hotspot -> WRT54G -> WRT54GL -> wireless clients in house (Setup when my internet cable goes down)

Hmm i think that shouldnt be too hard, if i understand you correctly.

Setup the WRT54G to the Sprint as however you want. Connect the WAN port of the GL to a LAN
port of the G. The GL should get a WAN ip by DHCP from the G and your clients are served by the GL.
Make sure you use completely different networks on the G tho, so the GL does not get confused.
For example 192.168.1.x on the Sprint<->G, and then 10.1.1.x for GL<->clients.
And make sure the actual Sprint network does not interfere with either of those two also.
