    I have two problems:
    1) On my wireless network, i have a pci adapter on one computer and its only 20-30 feet away from the router yet it never gets higher than one bar of signal strength (out of 5) and constantly is disconnected.

    2) I just got a new labtop and when its in the same room as the router it will have full signal strength but i cannot access the internet. It is only sending 900 and recieving 220 packets per hour.

    Anybody have any ideas?

You're most probably picking up an access point near you rather than the one you installed. Go into your wireless foo in XP and make sure your AP is first on the priority list (though XP is generally crap with this sort of thing anyway).

You may also want to change to another channel if there are a lot of APs around.
