I've been having a problem with my new WRT54G router I bought. I connect with my DELL laptop that uses an Intell Wireless 2200BG wireless adapter.
When I'm connected on the Dell the wireless connection speed slow drops down at intervals until it finally gets to 1mb for no apparant reason.
I've tried upgrading the firmware to 4.20.6 just now but it's still doing it.
I've tried setting the transmission rate to 54 instead of AUTO but that hasn't seemed to fix it at all.

Any clues to how to remedy this?

are there any other electronic devices in the vicinity that emit intermittent interference? A microwave, television, hairdryer, vacuum cleaner, fan regulator, etc?
