    LinkSys WRT54GL
    HyperWRT Firmware Version: v4.71.1, Hyperwrt 2.1b1 + Thibor15c
Wireless card is dLink DWL G120 USB card

    Problem
Wireless out to Internet not working

Wireless - internal to Router (HyperWRT settings), internal to local PCs, and printer is working fine,
I do get a valid IP address
I've tried both IE and FireFox - cannot connect

When I swap routers for an old dLink DI-624 everything works fine.

Is there a setting I'm missing?
Only using Windows XP Firewall, but I doubt that is an issue because it works fine with other router.
I am not using any security - I have no neighbors.

One more bit. When I try to go to, say, Google, I notice in the status bar it is trying to connect to the IP address of google, so it knows where Google is, but that is as far as it gets.

All of my wired connections are fine.

I've tried on 2 PCs, same result.

My next course of action will probably be to try some other firmware, but I really like HyperWRT. But I will wait for some help first.

    Any suggestions

    thanks

Have you tried clearing the NVRAM and restoring the default settings under Administration/Factory Defaults in the router setup?

    HEY - that worked!

The whole time I'm thinking - this is not going to work - this is not going to work - and then my home page popped up!

Now I will slowly reset my settings and check connectivity each time to see if the problem repeats.

Now I can submit my mail-in-rebates and bring on a whole host of new headaches!

    Thanks!
