I have in my possession a friend's WRT54G that will only connect via wireless if the PC is ~ 3 meters away. It was working fine then this problem suddenly appeared. I have googled for a while but I haven't come up with anything. I suspect that it is a terminal hardware failure, but I thought I would post here to see if anyone has any ideas. Here's what I have tried and found: - Everything else works fine except wireless - The problem exists with no encryption - I tried a 30/30/30 reset - I tried using only antenna A or antenna B - I opened the case, I don't see any blown, burned or bulging components Does anyone have any ideas?
If you reset the router and have the problem on multiple machines and the TX power is at def (or higher) the its time for a new router. Sent from my AT100 using Tapatalk 2
Well first try a complete nvram erase, if that doesnt work its probably a hardware issue, some bad capacitor check for a mushroom head.
