I have recenlty purchased aprintserver Model # WPS54GU2. I have successfuly configured two PC laptops with it but cannot do so with a MAC iBook G4. Calling the technical support to see how to configure the port or open any of their drivers on the provided CD in a MAC environment was usless. They have pointed me to this forum to see if anyone else knows how to do this. HELP Please let me know if anyone can assist me.

    Thanking you in advance.

    Via IP Printing
    Printer Type: LPD/LPR
Printer Address: Set the WPS54GU2 to use a static address
Queue Name: SERVERNAME_P1 (for parallel port) or SERVERNAME_P2 (for USB)

SERVERNAME is the name on the sticker on the bottom. The device name you specify in setup will not work, it must be the default server name.

Note that "Internet Printing Protocol" doesn't seem to work even though the WPS54GU2 supposedly supports IPP. This has worked for me since Mac OS X 10.3, I'm currently using OS X 10.4.4.

Obviously, it's a printer that needs to have Mac support, which usually means a PostScript printer. If the printer doesn't support a Mac, you can try something like Gimp-Print or Ghostscript.
