Last year i sadly bought a Linksys WRT54G ver. 7 router, which means it's not possibly to flash it to open spource firmware.

The problem with router is the wireless range: About 4 metres from the router it jumps down low signal.

I have upgraded to firmware v7.00.4, and tried changing radio channel from 1,6,11 without luck. Furthermore i have tried setting the Fragmentation Threshold to 2307 and the beacon interval to 50, but it still have a very bad range.

    Any suggestions?

    Best Regards

Maybe I'm confusing it with the 3com, but I thought Linksys warranty on the g-products was 3 years -- have you tried contacting Linksys about that and seeing if they'd replace it (I believe it is a faulty unit if it drops a signal outside of 4 meters radius).

PS. I hope you have confirmed it's the problem with the router, not the interference or messed up drivers on the computer.

Well, waiting all this time wasn't in your advantage. I sustain stangri, contact Linksys for your warranty.

I would send it back to the dealer where i bought it, and see if i can get a new one. It is a problem with the router, cause i have tried using more than one laptop, and the results are the same.
