Need some advise understanding what to do. My objective is not to send clear text packets when connected wirelessly The issue is that in my local network has a couple of old servers/devices that do not support https, so everything goes in clear text and I need to be sure that by either the wireless protocol or the vpn my connection to those servers/devices is not sent in clear text as that would expose passwords and whatever info goes to them. Wireless is set to WPA2 Personal (PSK) + AES. Does this mean that information between my router and laptop is encrypted? Encrypted in the sense that if packets are captured they are not clear text. Since I was not sure of the above, i set up openvpn between my router and my laptop; it seems to be working ok. But I wonder how can I check that i am connecting via the vpn instead of the regular wireless connection to my local servers. Using Tomato openvpn and tun, so i am not sure if the vpn works for the intranet IPs or only for the external sites/IPs. Thanks !
