Wireless speed since switching to DD-WRT

Recently I got myself a WAP54G access point. It is connected to a router where a PC is connected to. I have a laptop connecting wireless to the AP.

With the Linksys firmware 2.08 I have transfer rates of 2.4MB/s on file transfers between the pc and laptop.
Since I switched to DD-WRT v24 RC7 micro-generic firmware this morning I am having transfer rates of 1.5MB/s. Is there anything I can do to have this DD-WRT firmware get my old wifi-speeds?

There is a wireless speed drop with dd-wrt, relative to stock, Thibor, and Tomato firmware, in my experience. I believe there is a fix or at least improvement for it, but I could never find it. Perhaps check the www.dd-wrt.com forums (and please post back if you find something).
