WRT54G V2.2 downstairs , connected by LAN port to PC1, WinXP
2 PCs (winxp) upstairs connected via Wireless card/usb

When trying to play a TCP/IP LAN game such as Counterstrike , AOE etc computers downstairs can see the game downstairs but times out when trying to connect and eventually says "cannot join" or something similar. This is the same Vice Versa. Normal LAN gaming works

Standard DD-WRT settings on WRT54G (PPPOE). Everything seems to work but WLAN gaming. Pinging, name resolution , ip resolution, MS networking, internet, internet gaming (Steam , all playing at once) all ok.

Set as DHCP, static IP, no difference.

Plug in spare Netgear WGT624 which has the same wireless./internet settings. Works straight away.

If anyone can actually play WLAN games using this firmware please let me know. If you can help, even better.

and naturally the Linksys official firmware works with no problems with WLAN gaming,

It seems to be a definite problem with DD-WRT unless someone can prove me otherwise ?

Do you expect many replies if you keep insulding potential repliers? This is a forum and trust me people would reply if they knew how to fix this. Making 300 bumps and throwin insults won't help fix your problem.

Instead try this: set up an FTP server (like Filezilla server) on the machine usually hosting the game (upstairs if I understood you right). See if all clients that are supposed to join the game can reach the FTP server and see what kind of throughput you get.
    Post the results.

    Hi, thanks for the reply,

Actually , no, I don't think I would have got a reply if I didn't throw an insult. You just kinda proved that to me. I will try that after a new version of DD-WRT comes out ,. I'm using Linksys atm. The only question I would have been happy to have been answered was if I i'm actually the only one or is this a common problem. I still haven't got the answer to that. Anyways, thanks.

Ive had the same problem with AOE.

I can get wireless games to wireless, Lan over Lan, but know wireless to lan

Ive used a packet sniffer but everything gets through for the net but when AOE starts nothing form the wireless with regards to the game, I got a couple of packets once discovering the game but then it just stoped again.

I tried alchemy but still same problem now im back to stock firmware witch is a real shame because i realy like this firmware.
