I got myself a linksys wmp300n v2 first I did my installation on a xp system wich did not work. During the installation on xp It asks for a file that is in the vista folder then the installation finishes and it shows the driver is not functioning.

So i installed a vista system and installed the drivers, no everything is good and the card seems to work but I cant connect to my WRT610N with a N signal I can only connect to my G signal!

What a horrible driver support! This is realy not acceptable for a company like linksys!

Does someone have an idea what the problem is?

Thanks the Atheros AR5008 works great!

I played a lot with all the settings on my WRT610N (Eu) and I am getting a connection with 300 Mbps through the 2.4 ghz channel. When I set it at 40Mhz and wide channel 11 and standard channel 13. With other settings I get a 130Mbps or slower connection.

I also tryied a lot of different settings with the 5Ghz channel but I have never seen that signal in my list of wireless connections through the WMP300Nv2. But my laptop see the connection so I know it is there! Looks like the WMP300Nv2 can't deal with 5Ghz signals.

The WRT610N is a dual-band router, i.e., it functions on both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz band. But the WMP300N is a single band adapter, i.e., only 2.4Ghz. If you want a dual-band adapter, there's the WUSB600N, which would be able to use the 5Ghz band as well.
