Did you specify the location of the of the driver on the CD that was provided with the WMP54GS. Where X is you CD drive, the inf should be found at X:/Drivers.

just installed a wmp54gs on my system two weeks ago. (win xp sp2)
I had problems with the install cd, but the online package should work fine.

    here is what I did:

-uninstalled whatever had been installed before
-unzipped the online driver to c:/linksys driver/
-removed the adapter entry from the device manager
-guided the hardware assistant to the driver directory of the unzipped archive

pretty basic procedure but maybe you should try it once more.

    Thank you for your help

But I already tried with the online drover and that did not work :(

I have checked the file BCMWL5.inf
I added the ID of my card in the %BCM430G_DeviceDesc%
Windows found the driver and installed it but it could not start the card

I don't know what to do now

Check the default selections for the hardware. Go to Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, highlite your card (network adapter), right click, properties, Advanced. Then go through and make sure everything is ok.

BTW, I was not able to connect with mine until I turned off the "BlueTooth Collaboration" feature.
