I would like to place a flat panal antenna on my WMP54GS adapter. I'm a photographer at a Race Track and transmit the pictures to the main computer via a WRT54GS router. The router is about 200 feet away in the judging stand, about 30ft above ground with a 15db gain flat panel antenna facing me. Router is hard wired to the main computer. I put hyperWRT firmware and set power at 84 milowatts.

I am not an RF engineer. Will a flat panel antenna at 19 dbgain overcome the loss from an 8' low loss pigtail cable?

With the standard antenna I was getting two and three marks on the signal strength meter.
Another problem is my motherboard is only USB 1 and my new motherboard with USB 2 won't be in until Friday.

    Any thoughts on this,?
