WMP54Gv4 Doesn't Reconnect

    Hi all,

When my connection is dropped on my PC, many times it will not reconnect automatically. When the adapter tries to reconnect, it will get a good signal (near 100%), but the router will not allow a connection. When it works, the XP adapter info (lower left-hand corner status area) says that it is connecting to an encrypted network. When it doesn't the adapter says it is attempting to connect to an open network. My girlfriend's PC does not have this problem, and she is using a card with the same Ralink chipset as is in the WMP54G that I have. Using the "repair" option is also unsuccessful.

This leads me to believe that my WRT54G is not at fault for this error. I've troubleshooted it, and have found that this problem occurs under any firmware. Then again, this morning I rebooted my PC after I awoke, and it wouldn't even connect the first time.

I've also tried using the Linksys Utility instead of Zero Config and that doesn't help either. I'm currently using the Ralink RT2500 drivers instead of the newest Linksys one, but it the problem has occured under either.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Some helpful specs:

    Router: WRT54G v2.2 - HyperWRT v2.0; WPA-PSK (AES) MAC filtering on
    Adapter: WMP54G v4 - Ralink drivers v3.0.3.0
