WMP54GX: manually remove driver

The driver for my WMP54GX does not function. It cannot be uninstalled, or reinstalled through normal means. I have tried the bundled software uninstall, and uninstalling through the device manager. When I attempt to uninstall, it tells me it failed to remove the device because it may be needed to boot. When I try to reinstall, it says the best drivers are already loaded.

I need to fully remove all traces of the driver from my registry and harddrive so that I can attempt a clean reinstall.

If someone could guide me through which registry values are created and how to remove them, and how to make it as though it were never installed, I would be much obliged.

Please do not give advice like "remove the card and put it back in" or "download and install the latest drivers, and then un/reinstall." I have done all this. I need a FULL removal.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give... I'd really like to get this fixed so I can stop coming to the library to use the net.
    Thank you.

Have you tried disabling the adapter and reboot, then try to remove the device from Device Manager again?

What is your objective in removing the driver? Are you attempting another reinstall or an adapter replacement?
