Well, I ended up purchasing another router...wrt600N because it looked like it did everything. Spent 2 weeks with tech support on the logging, they did not seem to know anything about the router (later I was told it was because it was new and they had not been fully trained). It works fine except for the logging, it has a remote logging capability so it can log internally and externally.

Well it would stop logging after 8-12 hrs. Tech support could not explain this an told me to take the router back to the store because it must be defective. Ok so I returned it an had the same problem, and support could not help.

So I called the corp. offices of Linksys for help. They provided me a person here in the U.S. that would help me. (The normal support could not understand the difference between logging and login). That was on Monday and they said the would get back to me in a few days.

Well, just got a call. Apparently the logging option in the router is for diagnosing problems only....why they have the external option I don't know. They say it is only made to log for a couple of hours then it gets filled up and stops logging. It has to be cleared manually around every 4 hrs to keep it logging. I was then told that logging traffic is only available in their more expensive routers, that to keep the cost down they limited the memory for logging. No where in the doc or any website does it say this.

I mentioned this site and the number of people that wanted even more logging....he said Linksys is aware of 3rd party software and they are now have a way of checking if it was used, if so your warrenty will NOT be available. He also said they have removed the logging option from a few of their routers and will probably remove it from the rest soon because no one uses it.

I cannot believe this, looks like linksys is turning to crap.
