Hi! I've got the following problem: when using the WPC54G to access the network, my notebook freezes. The drivers are properly installed (broadcom drivers, I tried all kinds of drivers), and my old WLan Card (Gericom 11Mbps-Standard-Card) works. Maybe it is a pcmcia-driver problem (O2micro OZ6912)? Any suggestions? Thanx in advance!

If you eject the does the notebook respond? Look at the system event log. Are there any indications of any errors? What OS are you on. The O2micro OZ6912 may not be able to supply enoungh power to the WPC54G. Check for any conflicts in det device manager.

Im having the same problem. I have a Dell Latitude D600 laptop with a O2Micro O2711EC1 PCMCIA Controller. This computer isn't very old so I don't think its a power issue. Do you think it has something to do with the pci controller? When ever I stick the card into the laptop it freezes completely. If I take it out it unlocks. I called Linksys and they told me to get another card...
Im sorry I hijacked this thread. I hope we both find out what the problem is.

can you also check your pin outs in the laptop incase there is a pin bent on the connector.

Both my daughters and my companies D600 freeze with the WPC54GX, but work with the WPC54GX4. I tried updating the BIOS and the PCMCIA driver to the latest versions, but they do not work. The DELL D601 works, but it uses a different PCMCIA adapter.
