I have a WPC54GS NIC and the Linksys software installed to manage it on a laptop. I am seeing repeated connectons (in WallWatcher) coming from remote address "webgod.linksys.com" port 13...in 2 mins or less about 25 connections being made to my laptop....what gives?

Port 13 is reserved for the Unix daytime protocol, but it could be anything.

If that's an XP, go for the built-in WZC and uninstall the Linksys s/w. In short, uninstall the software, install the adapter only with the drivers and then start the Wireless Zero Configuration service. That should do it.

Strange that this NIC is causing so much traffic to Linksys...whats the point? Xp it is and I will uninstall the software soon. Still...has no one ever encountered this? WTF is Linksys doing?
