WPC54GS v2 has poor connection, yet a v1 on same network is great? Help!

    Greetings!

I recently purchased another WPC54gs card to compliment the one I already had. I have a WRT54GS router running HyperWRT 2.1b1 + Thibor15c. My first WPC54gs is a v1 and connects up and runs really well, connects at 54mbps, verygood to excellent signal strength and never drops a connection. So I figured I'd order another for a laptop that had an old B-card in it. Well as it turns out, the second WPC54GS I got is a v2 and for the life of me, I can't get it to connect like the v1 card. Often it connects at 11mbps, drops connections etc. I've tried both the v1 and v2 cards in two different systems and the result is the same; the v1 out performs the v2.

So my question is, do I have a bum card or was there some sort of change between v1 and v2 that is lending to this issue?

    Thanks

Are you using the Broadcom 4.100.15.5 driver on both ?

I had found them, seems to be a bit better.. odd that w/the v2 card the link speed drops to 36mbps but w/the v1 card it stays at 54, and the SNR seems to be better w/v1..

Improved w/the broadcom drivers, but i'm not sold just yet..
