WPG54G problems

I searched for wpg54g and found a few short threads so I figured I would create my own.

For those that don't know the WPG54G is a wireless access point with a video out, that is used in conjunction with linksys software to project your desktop onto another screen. Its nice because that way you don't have to physically connect your computer/laptop to the TV/Monitor every time you want to have a presentation.

I am however facing a few problems with it.

The program used to connect to the access point will first try to wirelessly connect to the device, cancelling any other wireless connections you might have. Furthermore half the laptops I have can't find the WPG54G devices most of the time(I have a wide variety of brands and models in the office)

In order to make everything more reliable I wanted to turn off the WGP54G's wireless broadcast. This is because you can also find the access points via your network(the access points also have a nic card). This method is much more reliable, and also has improved speed. However there doesn't seem to be a way to even turn off SSID broadcasting let alone disable the wireless device completely. Therefore Id have to disable the wireless devices on all the laptops in order to force the program to first look at the network via cat5.

Another solution would be to have the program used to connect to the WPG54G first look at the network for the WPG54Gs before trying to connect to them wirelessly. However I haven't found any settings to make that possible.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks
