WRE54G expander problems

    Hi,

I recently bought a WRE54G range expander to work in another room with my WET54G ethernet bridges. The range expander works great for a few hours then loses it connection to my WRT54G v2 router. The link connection glows red and no matter how much time I wait, it never is able to return the connection. Unplugging the expander and replugging it in returns the connection without problems for a few hours.

I have updated the firmware to 2.1.12, without any success. Has anyone else had this problem or able to solve this?

    Thanks!

Yep, I had this exact same issue, although I have a WRT54GS router. It would connect and work fine for a while, then mysteriously drop it's connection and I'd have to unplug it and replug it in, to get it to work again. I tried a few things but never fixed it.

I gave up on it because of this(I also had issues accessing it's setup page, at times too) and the price(I felt $100 for such a flaky device was a bit much). I ended up returning it and just getting a V4 WRT54G(converted to a GS) and am running WDS, connecting it and my existing WRT54GS, which the WRT54G basically doing the same thing as the WRE54G but with no issues and half the price.
