WRE54G Lan Port

Ok. Perhaps this is somewhat of a unique setup but this is the only way I can get this to work.

At the moment I have a wireless router in my house, it works fine and all is well. I needed to get the network connection into a second house on my property so I decided to get a WRE54G. Set it up, connected it, all is well.

Problem: There is only one spot in the 2nd house that I can put the wifi repeater. The computer in said second house is on the opposite end of the house. The whole house is insulated with fiberglass so unless I buy close to 20, the system is pointless. HOWEVER, the 2nd house is fully cat6 wired with a hub in the basement.

So, I have the main wifi router from house 1 talking to the range expander in house 2. I also have the computers in house 2 talking to the range expander in house 2 (though the lan port on the range expander via the house's cat6 wiring.) I can access the WRE54G menu from the wifi network in house 1, I can also access the WRE54G menu from the lan in house 2. The problem? The lan port on the range extender and the antenna on the range extender don't want to talk to each other. Both sides of the network can access the range extender but the extender doesn't seem to let its wifi talk to its lan port.

Any suggestions on getting the range extender to play nice with.... itself?

The purpose of the LAN port on the WRE54G is for setup purposes only not for use as a bridge.
