WRK54G - Frequent Connection Drops

I have a WRK54G with a DSL modem. About every 40 minutes or so, all of the computers on my network will have their internet connections dropped. The internet then seems to be down for a few seconds, like 15, and then everything is suddenly back. I plugged my modem directly into my computer and left it running overnight, with a tiny C# program keep an active TCP connection to friends house, transfering meaningless data a few times a second. That worked perfectly with no disconnects, so I can only conclude that my router is to blame.

If I have trillian or IRC or whatever open, I get Winsock error 10054, if that helps. I think I've seen 10053 too, but I'm not 100% sure.

Should I just ditch the WRK54G and upgrade to something better? (WRT54GS/GL..?) I'd rather not have to spend the money if I didn't have to, but if I must...
