I hope this is not a redundant question, but I could not find a decent explantion.

First, what is the major difference between the : WRT54G-GS-GL and GC ?

I'm asking this since I want to get the one which is most compatible with the dd-wrt firmware.

Ok thanks for the link, its very helpfull !

But, after some reading, isn't it so that a GS V3 is better then a GL ?
It seems to have 32/16 while the GL has 'only' 16/4. With the GS I also have the speedbooster, and it only costs 10euro's more. I have no idea if these V3's are still available though, but I think its worth looking around for, no ?

If I cannot find a GS V3 then I'll go for the GL. Does it matter which version of the GL I have ? They all have 16/4 and support 3rth party firmware ?

If you can still find a V3 GS, I guess it'll allow you more. The S in GS is a software feature, so, provided your router has enough RAM/flash, you can do GS with a G and custom firmware.
