WRT160N v3 - cannot use channel 11

    Using the stock firmware, this is not possible. If I select this channel, the wireless clients don't connect.

    Also, sometimes, I'm experiencing connection drops (the router disconnects from internet), a unstable signal (even using 20mhz) and a long time to reconnect. There is one small issue with the web interface, if I change any option, the router disconnects and takes many minutes do connect again.

    I tried the DD-WRT firmware (many versions) and found it very problematic. In some builds, the router don't connect do the net, in others the clients run at very low speed (around 30kbs) and stability.

    All this problems are common to this router model? Or, maybe, the fact it's refurbished is leading to all this?

    I find something strange. Setting my older router, the WAG200, to use channel 11 also lead to problems, instability and disconnections.

    So the problem is in that channel, not in the WRT160N. Now I'm using the channel 6.

    Another thing I did was install the Tomato firmware. I'm very pleased with it, for the first time the router is stable.

    For now the problem seems solved.
