I am having a range problem with my WRT54GP2 router. I am thinking of replacing the router with either the WRT300N or the WRT54GX4 and then connecting the Vonage PAP2.
Does anyone have any thoughts about the WRT300N vs the WRT54GX4?

    Thanks, Bob

I've setup quite a few of the gx series..the gx4 is great..the Pre-N/MIMO based on the Airgo True MIMO chipset has had time to mature, firmware matured, etc...working absolutely fantastic on my setups.

The Draft-N models, according to most writeups, still seem to have the need to improve a few versions. At best they seem to perform about 70-80% of what the prior Pre-N units perform at. Will they improve with firmware? Or will they need chipset version changes to improve? Hard to tell.

People worry about "If I get Pre-N now..it's not office, and most likely not supported once official N comes out!"

Not an issue...vendors like Linksys will not DROP support for prior Pre-N models, people seem to have this "year 2000 bug" disillusion with them. Ultimately they are still compatible with old G and B wireless types..so who cares. They will continue to work. And by the time official N comes and out and has the bugs worked out...it'll be time to purchase a new one anyways..only a hundred bucks a pop...most of us are upgrading rather quickly soon as something new comes out anyways.
