WRT310N-CA Wireless Router Pausing?

I have a brand new WRT310N-CA Router hooked up to a DSL internet connection which decides it wants to pause for about 5-10 seconds every 5 minutes. This is extremely irritating and I cant figure out why it would be doing this. I also use a USB wireless receiver on my computer (WUSB600N-CA). Any suggestions on where I should be looking to fix this?

I am also getting this issue but much more frequently. I am wired directly to a Linksys wrt310N and every 5 seconds or so, I get a .5 - 1 second lag. Then occasionally it will drop everything for 5 seconds or so. I am a gamer and this is ridiculous. I want to smash this router. Can anyone be of assistance? Tried newest firmware (1.0.0.6), and also the latest DD-WRT. Nothing helps

I have the same issue; I even disabled the firewall to see if it helps. I did notice the unit is running warmer than other routers. I think these units are a pile of junk and will be returning. I have read numerous reviews and everyone seems to say the same thing about the pausing. I am running 1.0.0.7 and still no luck to kill the pausing.
