Yes, it is Linux based, and the source code is finally released for version 1.00.0, the file is available here: WRT350N_v1.00.0_US.tgz

there are many source codes released but not all can be compiled or tweaked. have you tried compiling the src code yet?

I'm having trouble compiling the source on my x86_64 Fedora core machine since it seems you need an i386 compatible build environment so I'll have to figure out how to get that working, or just find another machine to do the compiling. But since I don't have a WRT350N to test the result on, I'm not sure this will be a useful experiment.
However, I'm pretty sure I've seen several threads asking if the WRT350N is a Linux box or not, it is nice to know that it is Linux based, regardless of how hard it will be to get alternative firmware on it.
