WRT350N wireless throughput

I have this router but I dont have a wireless N card to match. Just wandering if anyone can tell me what kind of wireless speed throughput they get with the N card. I was hoping it would be very fast since the ethernet ports are no longer the bottleneck. (10/100 vs gigabit). I heard dd-wrt makes a huge difference in wireless performance over the original linksys firmware.

    Thanks

Some of the actual throughput I have gotton with the WRT350N paired with a linksys PCI N Card average around 85mbps. I have gooton as high as 101mbps. I conducted this test with Qcheck.

Thanks for the reply! I am impressed with your results. I believe those numbers are higher then what the wrt300n gave me when I had one. I returned both the card and the wrt300n. But I am sure to keep this wrt350n.

Yeah I think the results are great. The wireless card is on the 3rd floor and the router is in the basement. What I noticed while doing the tests is that the stronger the signal, the better the throughput (Figured as much). So what I did was move the antenna around on the wireless card until it showed a connection of 248mbps to 270 mbps. Once I had that, I keep the antenna in that position.

How are the antennas on your WRT350N positioned now? I'm in a similar situation with the router being in the basement and the wireless adapter being on the second floor. As a result, I rarely connect above 216 mbps.

My WRT350N has the two end (straw-shaped) antennas pointed straight up while the paddle antenna is rotated 90 degrees relative to the router body. BTW, the router is sitting vertically.

With dd-wrt the highest steady throughput I have obtained between my WRT350N and my n-enabled AppleTV 15m away is 270mbps when the WRT350N is set to N-only. Currently it's sitting at 54mbps in G-only.

i've seen that in ftp.linksys.com in opensource section there are the source code wrt300n V2 with atheros chipset. Files 2.00.17 & 2.00.18 are firmware for wrt300n v2
