WRT45g access point

    Heres the deal. I moved out of my apartment into a house with some friends. IM the only one with a laptop. I have the linksys 4 port router at the modem running DHCP to the house. I want to use my WRT45G so i can have my laptop anyhere in the house. It works. I have wireless connection everywhere. BUT when i plug in the internet to the wrt45g it fucks up.

    Can anyone tell me the exzact settings I need to use the wrt45g as an access point. I have tryed so many different things..

    You have to change the IP Address of the WRT54G not to conflict with the 4 port router. You have to set the WRT54G as a DHCP client. You have to disable the DHCP server on the WRT54G and under the Advanced Routing web page, you have to change if from a gateway to a router. I would do it from a wired connection from the WRT54G. You do not have to have it connected to your 4 port router. Save the setting after you make the changes. You have to connect the WRT54G from port 4 on the WRT54G to your 4 port router. Be sure to power cycle the WRT54G before connecting it to your 4 port router.

    thanks, those are the same settings I had. But i always did it wirelessly to setup and i plugged the other router into the internet port on the wrt. How do i power cycle it.
