    Hi-
    I'm using Win XP SP 1 with a Linksys WRT54G, right now at firmware 2.02.7 I think. I have been having this specific problem for a while. Every once in a while, the connection from my wireless computer to the router is dropped, and the router disappears as a viable choice to log on to for wirelss usage. I'm using the windows built-in wireless configuration thing and not Linksys' software. Regardless, teh connectino is dropped and my computer can't see the router, then five minutes later or so the router starts working again and I automatically log back on. My wired computer has no problem during this time. Does anyone know why this happens, and how to fix it?
    Thanks!

    Worth upgrading to SP2 They have made a lot of work in the WIFI side of XP/SP2
    I had the same problem under SP1, Since installing sp2, 2 weeks ago the signal never drops. :wink:

    Change the Wireless > Advanced Wireless >Beacon Interval to 50. The default it 100. This has been shown to improve connection stability when using wireless clients and Windows XP's Zero Config utility. Let us know how it works for you.

    Do you have multiple logon's on your wireless system?

    The following patch fixed my problem with dropped signals cause of multiple logons:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\EAPOL\Parameters\General\Global]
    "AuthMode"=dword:00000002

    Dave :p
