WRT54 Possibilities ? ? ?

    new to these forums :)

    Ive started getting interested in the linksys wrt router but am a bit confused about what you can really do with the 3rd party firmware?

    Can you really run linux (not VxWorks)?
    How Can you communicate with it?
    What can you get it to do?
    Can you get it to run linux applications?
    I know one model came with a usb connector for NAS, could you configure the linksys to run a torrent client/server?

    What can you or can't do with it within reason?

    Thanks for your help, look forward to getting my hands on one of these!

    Also is the best model?

    I know to stay away from the v5

    Is the sd card and serial hack compatible with all versions of the WRT54GS

    I know you can set up a samba share with it but how much could you realistly share (sd cards go up to 4gb)???

    Could someone atleast point me in the right direction. Thanks

    just get an WRTG54GL<- Yes with L, whitch means linux.., to be sure that u can use other firmware, after you get it go to www.thibor.co.uk download thibor 15c, flash it in the the router then YAY!, you have Stable, Solid router with very good wireless range, you can also in the acvanced wireless settings boost the wireless.

    ihave just done that and iam very happe with my new router.
