WRT54G and Nintendo DS

Discussion in 'Cisco/Linksys Wireless Routers' started by MetroidBishop, Dec 2, 2005.

  1. I'm having trouble getting my Nintendo DS to connect to my router. When I do a search for an access point, my home router is found and is says that there is a good connection between the two and I am asked for my WEP key. After doing so, I get a message:
I have gone through trying this about 10 times now, and I am sure that I am using the proper WEP key. Are there any settings I need to check on my router to make it allow the DS to connect to it? I have the MAC filter disabled, so I don't think that would be a problem.

Not sure if this will help, but I had to enable broadcast SSID before I could connect. From the sounds of things, you probably have this set up already.

I have the same issue with my WGA11B, as well. It all started when I got my WRTP54G. The BEFW11S4 I had before never had this requirement. If anybody knows why this is a requirement to get these devices to work, I'd appreciate a PM pointing me in the right direction.

I too have a DS and a WRT54G. I found that enabeling the MAC filter and then adding the MAC address of the DS helped. Also try turning off the WEP and then try to connect.

The thing is I know little about routers and I only learbed this through trial and error. Is there anyone who knows about the DS and the WRT54G that could provide the ideal settings for the two? The most stable setting with the best security possible. That'd be really helpul.
