I am currently having difficulties setting up my WRT54G and USR5450 up with the 5450 as a repeater. I want to set up the network with DHCP turned off.

I have tried turning off dhcp and and under advanced routing I have tried current settings:
    - Lan IP
    - Subnetmask
    - Default gateway

    - Lan IP
    - Subnetmask
    - Default gateway (I read somewhere that you have to keep the gateway on (this might be a load of crap))

The 5450 I have entered the same SSID as on the WTR54G, same channel and entered both configurations above and both don't work.

If anyone knows what I can do to set up this network, I'd really apreciate it. If you need more information that I didnt mention here just ask.

    Thanks in advance

The Linksys WRT54G uses a Broadcom chipset and the US Robotics 5450 Access Point, probabily uses their own chipset. WDS (wireless distribution system) is implemented differently by each manufacturer and will probabily not work.
