WRT54G and WPA over WDS with a USR 9108

    It fails miserably , if WPA is disabled the two devices communicate perfectly. As soon as we enable WPA the WRT shows 0db in the "Status-Wireless" page.


    WRT54G V3.1 - FIRMWARE Free-Man/Basic 1.0.4 ;-)

    USR 9108 - Firmware: 3.00L.03.06 - 19/Aug/2005

    The same WRT works perfectly with WRE54G with WPA enabled.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    make sure frame burst is enabled in the advanced wireless tab of the wrt

    Cold-boot both devices, give it some time to sync up.

    I frequently find on WDS that trying to enable major changes and expecting it take effect while the device is hot, just doesn't work. Don't know why.

    make sure u have he same wpa on both
    if u have wpa tkip on the wrt make sure it is wpa tkip on the other router.
